Logging ICF Hours

Hey Trainers!

There are several ways for a coach to obtain paid ICF hours for their log. * Please note that a coach cannot count any coaching hours that are completed within training. For example, they cannot count the time that they coach within class and they cannot count any Power Hour time if they are making up a class.

  • Power Hours: If a coach attends a Power Hour to make up a class, they cannot count those hours on your client log. However, if they attend a class on their own time, they can count those hours towards their ICF credentialing.
    • The 7 AM PT and 12 PM PT Power Hours are dedicated solely to coaching. The 5 PM PT reviews a topic each week and not all of those session include coaching time. The 5 PM PT is a great time for coaches to discuss different ideas, tools, etc.

  • Aligned with International Coach Federation (ICF) clarifications on “bartering” coaching hours, we provide a connection service for our coaches in training to coach members of our community outside of class. These are called Coaching Pods. The ICF will accept these hours as paid coaching hours since there is an exchange of coaching between each party, which satisfies compensation requirements.
    • Paid hours can include:
Hours of coaching for which the coach receives payment from the client (payment may be in any amount, or barter of goods or services, including coaching in exchange for coaching). Practice coaching within class or related to training, cannot be included on client log.
